Coldest Night of the Year
On February 28, 2026, The Collingwood Curling Club will once again be creating a team to participate in The Coldest Night of the Year - a walk to support Home Horizons.
The Coldest Night Of the Year is a 2km -5km through downtown Collingwood which raises money for Home Horizon and the youth in our community experiencing homelessness. Every dollar donated/raised makes a changeable difference to the people they serve.
Last year, we created a team called the Collingwood Curlers and we raised almost $10,000 for Home Horizon, doubling the amount raised the previous year.. This year, we would like to expand our team, bring in as many curlers into our fundraising as we can, and celebrate before and after at the Collingwood Curling Club. The walk begins at 5:30pm on Saturday February 28, and we propose that we all gather at the curling club at around 4:45pm and walk over to Trinity United Church, where the walk begins.
We can do something fun to show that we represent our great sport, and use the walk as an opportunity to show the town what a fun, committed group of people we are.
The walk takes us down Maple Street, to First, and then across to Hurontario, up to CCI and then retrace our steps. Instead of going back to Trinity United Church, we make our way along Hume, back to the Curling club where we can celebrate with a beverage from the bar and a Pot Luck snack. We should be back at the club at around 6:00 or so and the bartender will be there until around 7:00pm.
Please consider joining us. The link to sign up is below. And, more information about Home Horizon and the Barbara Weider house is below as well. AND…if you raise $150 dollars, you will receive a lovely commemorative touque.
